Vacancy process engineer

Metalot is looking for a process engineer dedicated to the optimization of an iron powder combustion system and a regeneration system.

Our crown jewel is the market introduction of iron powder for compact, safe, cheap and large-scale storage of sustainable energy. Founding fathers of Metalot are TU Eindhoven, Provincie North Brabant, Nyrstar and gemeente Cranendonck.  On this website you will find background information about Metalot, our projects and initiatives.  

Process engineer wanted 

As part of a project with TU Eindhoven and Shell, the next 18 months will be spent working on the optimization of an iron powder combustion and regeneration system, requiring support in various forms. As a Process Engineer, you play an important role in demonstrating full circularity in the fuel cycle and improving innovative processes. In addition, you are a real "troubleshooter".

Your responsibilities include:

• continuous building of process design knowledge and skills to support Metalot's operations;
• participating in various projects from concept to implementation;
• (co-)performing measurements and experiments using the Metalot FEL Livinglab and Fieldlab setups;
• working together with the various partners of Metalot to optimize their processes and make the systems of the various partners work together better/possible in the chain;
• preparing and elaborating process (flow) diagrams, PIDs, calculations and system designs;
• co-supervising students/interns; 
• ensuring that all operations and setups meet necessary safety requirements, for which specific courses may be required.
